We are pleased to acknolwdge that one of our Director-at-Large, Pradip Mehta’s, CCE, PSP, EVP, PMP
article on "Effective Implementation of a Project Control System" was selected as one of the two technical articles
in the 50th Anniversary issue of the Cost Engineering Journal published last month.
His paper examines some of the human and sociological elements which contribute to the success or failure of a
Project Control System. It also touches on ways in which project control professionals can maximize their effectiveness
during project execution.
This article is a compilation of seven different presentations that he has given on this particular topic at different
venues. These presentations are acknowledged and listed in the journal.
If you are not a member of the AACEI (Association for Advancement in Cost Engineering International), you may obtain
a copy of his article by visiting www.pubsales@aacei.org for a nominal fee.
Congrats to Pradip!

Congratulations to all who worked with the PMI specialty credential team!
From Harry Stefanou PMI Director, Market and Business Development:
The specialty credential team would like to extend its thanks to the College of Scheduling for all
of your volunteers’ work on the new credential for project scheduling. Without our volunteer subject
matter experts, development of our credentials would not be possible. As a result of the hard work
completed by some of your members, PMI has been able continue the development of the project scheduling credential.
Some of the events your members participated in include:
Scheduling Focus Group: 2 of 10 members (20%)
Item Writers: 13 of 28 writers (46%)
Just over 860 College of Scheduling members contacted for exam specification input
On Friday, 12 October, a general announcement will be going out to PMI stakeholders regarding the development of the project
risk management and project scheduling credentials and their launch in 2008.
Again, PMI would like to acknowledge the contribution of your members and thank them for volunteering and participating
in the development of our high-stakes credential in project scheduling.
